Discover the best of Jeddah!

About

Jeddah Blog is a one-stop, city guide dedicated to this unique part of the world that is Jeddah. This blog is distinctive in that we aim to provide our readers with a wholly positive overview of life here. We want to enrich your experience of living in this metropolis and to help you unravel the mystery of Jeddah.

In 2008, when I initiated this blog, there was hardly any information available online about Jeddah. Being expats ourselves, life would have been so much easier had we any access to an online site such as this. On a whim, I set up a blog to connect with others, provide a free service, fill the knowledge gap with the aim of becoming a reliable and intelligent source of information about the city of Jeddah, and thus Jeddah Blog was born!

I have been lucky to be joined by many great writers and contributors over the years, and I’ve enjoyed working with every one of them. If you are an open-minded individual, looking to enhance your life in Jeddah, to be linked to positive individuals and events, then this blog should open up new possibilities for you.

I never imagined Jeddah Blog would take off as it has, gaining such a diverse and loyal readership. I’m grateful that our readership and popularity has grown consistently and beyond our expectations, and I am proud to continue to be a part of this amazing project. I love feedback, so if you like what you see, please do drop me a line.

  8. Dear Jeddah Blog ,

My name is Joyce and I work for ExpatFinder.com.
ExpatFinder.com is a free one stop website for people preparing to move or working and living overseas. We provide a myriad of services for expatriates and we have over 2,000 articles to help and support the people moving around the world and we are now creating an interview section to help the expats with real life experiences!
We quite enjoy your blog about living in Saudi Arabia, it is very interesting and informative. Would it be possible to interview you to further share some of your tips and feature some of your first hand experience as an Expat and your interview will be published on our Expat Interview section as a guide for our expat readers. The questions are mainly about the day to day lifestyle of an expat. If it would be possible, could you also send some photographs that we can use?
Of course, if you accept, we can add a link to your blog or some of your website.
The questions are enclosed, feel free to respond freely. You can return the doc with your answers if you accept this invitation.
Thanks in advance and do let me know if you prefer other means to conduct this interview and we would be happy to accommodate your terms.

    Best regards,
    Joyce

    Hello there,
I just came across your site/blog today. I have lived in Jeddah for a very long time, but haven’t visited all sorts of museums. I came across your very useful information regarding the Abdul Raouf Khalil Museum, so hope to visit it soon.

    Best wishes,

  12. I absolutely miss Jeddah my birthplace! Lived nearly two decades there before being forced to leave because I am an expat 😦

May Allaah Subhana Wa ta’ala allow the members of the site to benefit the people, Ameen.

  13. I’ve enjoyed your blog, which I found after searching for women fighting for the right to drive in Saudi Arabia. The inconvenience for KSA women having to wait for a man to drive them to even the most basic of places, such as a trip to the store for food, surely must be frustrating & inconvenient.

To be punished with lashings or jail really makes my heart ache. May these women stand strong & one day win their fight as a result. I’ve learned a lot & thank you for taking time to educate others. All the best to you & your readers from a US reader.

    • Thank you very much Mary for your comment. We love hearing from our readers around the world. As for the issue of women driving, it certainly is inconvenient, and maybe set to change soon? I join you in wishing for and hoping that the situation for women all around the world improves.

Thank you – hope you will continue to visit our blog 🙂
