A Spanking New Logo and other changes
As you all know, we initially began this blog in 2008 on a very small scale thinking that we were the only ones reading it. Mainly due to the lack of available and current information on Jeddah, it began to take off and steadily gained a large readership. In mid-2012, spurred on by our readers, we moved to our very own dedicated WordPress site and received a bunch of stats for the last 6 months of 2012. This is what WordPress tells us:
4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 21,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 5 Film Festivals
It’s a great start, and we’ve been recently scouting around for graphic designers to make us our very own logo.
I am very excited to present our Jeddah Blog logo to you all put together by two very young and talented chaps. Ibrahim and Abdullah Siddiqui are a team of brothers with a keen interest in IT and design. They have very aesthetically incorporated the major landmarks in Jeddah, including the proposed Kingdom Tower.
And here it is:
We’d love to hear feedback on what you think of our logo. We are also discussing a new banner for the blog. If you have any ideas then let us know.
On another front, we are sad to say good-bye to Naima Rashid who has been writing for us under the Arts & Culture banner. We wish her the very best in whatever she plans to do next.
